What is HDTV?
The digital TV switchover is the process of turning off the UK's analogue TV signal and replacing it with a digital signal which is a high quality signal and gives you more than conventional 5 channels.
The Switchover process was actually started in 2007 and has covered almost half of the nation but will be completed in 2013.
Once the switch over is successfully concluded everyone in the UK will be able to receive a digital signal which is also known as FREEVIEW through an Ariel.
There are a lot of benefits including:
- Greater choice of TV channels
- On-screen listings, Interactive features, audio description and subtitles for people with visual and audio impairments.
- Optional additional channels and services including premium channels such as Discovery, Setanta sports etc.
To receive a Digital signal you will need new a TV with integrated FREEVIEW / Digital Tuner. All of our LCD’s, LED’s and Plasma’s are ready for the big Digital Switchover but the question is "ARE YOU"?
